Welcome to the new blog and website for artist Jeanne McKay Hartmann. Hello! It's been a long time coming, as many friends know.
With a gazillion fun projects, opportunities and paintings to work on over the past few years, it's been hard to get out of the studio and find the time to focus on other things. Thank goodness for the talented - and very patient - Rachelle Saevil, the Creative Director behind the branding and site.
The real work began in March 2015 in London at a "Colour for Creatives" workshop lead by the amazing Fiona Humberstone, author of How to Style Your Brand. Fiona challenged us to use color psychology to create a brand that resonates and feels authentic to our own point of view. (I can't recommend her book and her workshops more!)
From there it was off to Paris to connect with the delightful Katie Mitchell who photographed me painting in my favorite spot, the Luxembourg Gardens, which I knew I'd eventually want to have as part of my branding and website although at that point still didn't have someone to bring them to life...
Enter Rachelle - thanks to Instagram and a connection to Katie. She did an extraordinary job understanding me and using the discoveries I had made in Fiona's workshop, along with Katie's photography and my illustrations, to create something that really feels true to how I see the world. I love how the mood board I created in the workshop over a year ago and the final results feel completely in line with each other.
The hope is to have some original work and prints available to purchase on the site in the not-too-distant future. I'll blog here from time to time when there is news of events or upcoming available works. And, of course, please pop by to say hi on Instagram, where I'll continue post most days.
Thanks so much - and a huge thanks to the three creative women behind the site... and everyone who patiently listened when I said that it was "coming soon!" XXX
