Artist’s Notes:
Returning to Paris after two years of canceled and postponed plans felt like such a gift, and I’m so grateful to be able to share through this collection of paintings all the joy, happiness and inspiration from those beautiful spring days.
The sun was shining, the blossoms blooming as we wandered the streets. Sitting in cafés and gardens sketching the rooftops and the flowers, and then returning to our apartment in the evening, popping a bottle of champagne and sitting on the balcony while the Eiffel Tower watched over my shoulder as I painted the rest of the day away – it was a dream come true.
This dream traveled back to Seattle with me, and it was as if I got to stay in a little Paris bubble while I created the rest of this collection from memories and photos. Paris truly is a “moveable feast,” and through these watercolors, my hope is that I can give you a little bit of Paris, wherever you are.
